The Mojo Fury York show was awesome. We don’t have big venues here but they really liked stereo and it was cool getting to see them in the palce where we used to go to our first gigs. They had loads of new songs which were all brilliant and the bar man loved them aswell so let us stay in the bar til almost 5 in the morning giving us tea and booze whilst we listened to Ray Charles.
Also, I didn’t only take photos of Mike, they were just the only ones that didn’t blur.

People that are fifteen, sixteen, seventeen years old, music is their life. And the idea that they can’t go see a band because they’re not old enough just doesn’t make any sense at all. To me, playing a show where people under the age of eighteen or under the age of twenty one are not allowed in is the same thing as not allowing women in, or Asians. It’s a significant part of the population that’s been ruled out for what reason? I’ve never played a show, knowingly at least, that wasn’t all ages. Music is for all people, that’s clear. And I don’t know why other people would ever accept conditions that were set by an industry as insidious as the alcohol industry. Why is music treated as a sideline to a party? To just getting fucked up, I just don’t understand it.

It’s all over til september!
Now it’s time to celebrate.
Long polkadot dress or short polkadot dress?!?!
It’s a hard life being a girl!
and I’m in bed earlier than I have been all week. Sketchbooks done, blog done, work set out and portfolio printed.
What on earth is going on?!
My mugs for the How kapow project. Well….It’s actually just bits of paper stuck on with blutack. They’d be much better if I’d had them printed and with all the troll faces.
College is getting so disheartening. All the fuck ups with work seem to happen to me and it’s not actually my fault. I’d prefer it if it were my fault because then I could just be annoyed at myself and fix it but when you schedule everything perfectly, only to have something beyond your control go wrong, it’s bloody annoying. I’ve been designing this screen print for weeks. I my acetates in on time (despite every printer in the college being down for 4 days) to then be told that they couldn’t have my screens ready by the normal date. Despite losing a day of work because of this I still got it done. I had printed in really fluorescent colours and I had checked with the tutors that when we sent the book to the printers, it would be ok. They looked at the paints, they watched me do it, I even brought up the issue earlier today only for when I handed them the piece, they said the printers wont be able to pick up the colours. I don’t see why they didn’t say it earlier! I now have to do a whole new design.
